Toker is a cat I rescued who was almost euthanized at one point. He was rescued in Roscommon, Mi and lived at a shelter with limited means. He was due to be put down following an adoption event at the Detroit Zoo but was taken in by a fellow rescue group. Toker was actually a feral cat who was captured as part of a TNR program but was displaying behaviors of a stray cat rather than a feral cat. He was emaciated, sick, and had lost almost all of his hair. He was nursed back to health and found by me purely by coincidence. My friend and I decided to look at some cats at PetSmart on the way home from having dinner, just for shits and giggles, since we were looking to adopt. We found Toker sitting in his glass cage, desperately trying to head butt us and rub on us through the glass. He had the most hopeless, forlorn, and desperate look on his little face. I instantly fell in love and adopted him that following Saturday. We named him Toker because he's so laid back and just lays on the couch with this glazed over look in his eye, purring at nothing, completely content with life. We always said he looked like a little stoner cat. He'd be happy just to spend the rest of his life laying on my lap and eating. Toker loves everything and everyone. New cats, dogs, people. Everything. He never hisses at me, bites me, scratches me, or displays any bad behavior whatsoever. His only negative attribute: HE FARTS! lol. Adopt!!! Rescued animals and shelter pets are the best! They're not ...
